Sylvia Tara:
A Hamburg native with deep Rheingau roots, Sylvia Tara is a force of nature—fearless, determined, and always in motion. By night and on weekends, she illuminates concert stages across Europe as a lighting designer. By day , she channels that same creative energy into crafting exceptional wines. Her life is a balancing act, managing vineyards, winemaking, parenting, and a full-time career—but rather than esitate, Sylvia dives in headfirst.
Winemaking runs in Sylvia’s blood. Her grandfather, Fritz Charissé, was the original owner of Charissé Winery, and though she never had the opportunity to learn directly from him, she carries on his legacy with skill and determination. Gaining hands-on experience through internships at renowned Rheingau wineries, as well as abroad in
New Zealand, she combines practical expertise with formal studies in viticulture and oenology.
Now, she is committed to unlocking the full potential of her vineyards while refining a distinctive signature style—one that reflects her drive, precision, and unwavering belief in the art of winemaking.
